The 7th annual Legal IT Forum will be taking place between Wednesday the 12th and Friday the 14th of October 2005. There also will be a CIO/IT Directors Forum, and a brand new In-house Legal IT Forum on the 11th and 12th of October.

CIO Magazine recently published a very good story about how UPS develops technology leaders and prepares staff members for future roles of increasing responsibility. Some of these strategies might well be appropriate for law firms or for corporate IT departments who have the responsibility to support legal technology systems, legal extranets, e-discovery systems, document management systems and other such offerings supporting the legal function.

CIO Magazine recently published an interested article on this topic. The article discusses the benefits of shared service organizations (cost reduction and, sometimes, opportunities to improve services).
